Create a Proper Visual Fire Alarm Zone Plan

In normal select mode, clicking a zone only selects it. It never creates extra corners. Drag the small diamonds to move a corner, or drag the short edge tabs to move a complete side.

Choose a marker, click it into place, then drag it to reposition. Marker mode switches itself off after one placement.

How to Use the Floor Plan Zone Chart Tool

Use a clear plan
PDF exports and clean scans produce the best outline cleanup.

Use magnetic snap
New boundaries lock onto existing zone corners and edges, so adjoining zones share the same line.

Draw the easy bits as rectangles
Use rectangle mode for offices, corridors and stores. Use polygons for awkward L-shaped areas.

Adjust instead of redrawing
Drag a diamond handle to move one corner or the short centre tab to move a whole side.

Match the panel
Zone numbers must match the fire alarm control panel display and current records.

Review after alterations
Update the chart after layout changes, extensions or fire alarm modifications.
